| - For the last two years, especially the last few months, I've been a weekly customer for this gun store. I usually come in with my handgun, grab my box of ammo(s) and target, and check in with the staff to get a lane assigned. Now the rest of the review will be solely on the CCW (concealed carry weapon) course I took.
CCW COURSE
Duration and price: The course itself lasted about 10 hours and the price you pay is $49 including your 30 rounds of ammunition. Types of ammunition provided are .380/9mm/.40/.45ACP. Prior to reserving a seat for this course, I've looked at other gun store prices and they charge around $75 or more. Some gun stores even ask you to bring your own ammunition! This was one of my core reasons to take a course with DF&A.
Instructor: Darius was the instructor for the day and may I say I've learned so much information I never knew before. His background in law enforcement and weapon mastery is impressive. While the 80's videos may be too dry to watch, he vamps up the energy with his humor and crazy life stories. He's very respectful, honest, and will do his very best to not set anyone up for failure.
Overall: I am very pleased with how the course went and I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a cheap yet awesome course. I'll be going here for my future renewals. If you want more bang for your buck (no-literally haha!) then you have to take a course with this gun store.
TIPS
1) Since you only get two breaks for the extensive class, I suggest you pack your own lunch. I'm a constant muncher so I pack a lunch I would normally take to work. Food and drinks are fine in the classroom. =)
2) Discount Firearms provides eye & ear protection at NO costs. If you do not like using other people's stuff, bring your gear.
3) To reserve a seat, call the store number: (702) 567-1158
Date: Every Tuesday & Saturday, excluding scheduled event dates.
Time: 8:45am - Full Day Class
Cost: $49, All inclusive for Nevada CCW
