I have been to this bar several times over the years. My husband wanted to celebrate his birthday there so I called to find out if they could accommodate us.
I asked if we had to reserve an area and was told it wasn't necessary because we were coming in so early. (8p)
We had a group of about 20-30 that would trickle in so we wanted to save spots.
About 30 minutes into us being there and two drinks each....the cocktail waitress comes up to us and looks nervous. She stated that someone had called in and reserved the area we were sitting in. Had there been reserved signs on the two areas we were occupying I would have understood but we had been there for 30 minutes already and no one mentioned anything.
I asked for the manager because I thought it was rude of him to make the cocktail waitress speak to us.
A super casual man in a tshirt, jeans and ball cap comes out and tells us he is the manager. He wasn't even dressed as nice as the patrons in his bar. I had a hard time taking him seriously. He didn't say his name until I asked for it. "Kevin" gave me the same story. I stated that we had been there now for 45 minutes and had drinks and asked if he was really going to ask us to leave. He said yes. The area he wanted us to move to had separate tables and chairs. It wouldn't fit our group. I was upset and told him I didn't appreciate it and that he should have reserved the area as soon as they had called in. He basically told me it was too bad and to move. He offered to give us a few shots but I was still upset. We couldn't move the party to a new location because so many people were already on their way. We stayed but the experience completely ruined my night. They made over $1500 off my guests that night and they didn't deserve it. (Although the cocktail waitresses were nicer than management.) Kevin never did show up with those shots, nor did I see him again that night to make sure we were ok.
I won't be giving them my business ever again.
