| - If I'm just getting a trim, I don't do much research. Usually I just walk into a budget franchise salon like Fantastic Sams, pay the ten bucks or so, and get on with my day. This time around when my split ends came a-sproutin', I leveled up to a MasterCuts in a mall. It looked a lot nicer, but I ended up with disappointing service at double the price.
I didn't have an appointment, but Jodi took me in. I wouldn't even have known her name had I not glanced at her licensure at the end. She didn't introduce herself. Actually, she didn't talk at all aside from asking me how many inches I wanted off. I reply 3 to 4 inches since my hair's pretty long. Then a few minutes later, she tells me "You're all set" without even asking me if I was okay with it.
Two complaints: First of all, hairdressers are usually personable. Or at least try to be. Secondly, even if it's just a trim, letting me see the outcome with a hand mirror or a simple "What do you think?" would have sufficed. I'm not lumping everybody that works here since I'm sure there are other stylists who are friendlier and more personable, but I'm not coming back to this lady.
