| - I started my Staples nightmare purchasing experience August 28, 2014. I had $400 in Staples gift cards. I decided on a Toshiba Chromebook shown on their on-line store. I called customer service, they told me they were out of stock, but they will try to get it for me. Chris called two weeks later saying they can get the computer for me. I would have to go to any Staples Las Vegas store to pay for it, and they will ship the computer to me. They knew I had gift cards, and it would not be a problem. I went the 10 miles to the nearest store, paid for the Toshiba, and called Chris at customer service to tell him all was well. He did not answer his phone, so I talked to another representative. The one difference of my buying experience was I asked the store manager for their 110% price match. Staples wanted to sell me the Chromebook for $379 plus tax or close to $400, while Office Depot had the exact same product for $279. The manager rang up my Toshiba for $259 plus tax. Chris called me the next day saying his supplier was out of stock. As of today 11-04-14, I have no Chromebook, and no gift cards. Staples will give me my gift cards back, but I live in Honolulu, Hawaii and they ABSOLUTELY refuse to ship to Honolulu no matter what even if I pay shipping. I do not want the worthless gift cards back. I want a cash refund or my Chromebook. They absolutely refuse either option. I cannot understand why this store is in business. Worse ever retail buying experience I ever had. Oh did I mention I have been communicating with the office of the President of Staples, and hey want to send me my gift cards, but then I send them back, and then I will get a check. Yeh, right. I am headed for court.
