  • This Sobeys is located at the east end of the Westney/Hwy 2 plaza. Beware that parking here can be difficult, there's only one way in or out of this area and people don't pay attention in this parking lot! I used to come here all the time, living across the street that was to be expected. I was in need of some ingredients for brownies and some fruit for a staff meeting snack and this was on my way to my destination so I stopped in on a Thursday night around 8:30. This location isn't often crazy busy, at least not when I've been here. Perhaps because this store is well laid out and the aisles are spacious so you don't feel like you're tripping over other people. The produce is normally pretty good, although its laid out weird in the store. I came in looking for strawberries and had to walk around twice before I saw them in the cooler area. The bakery aisle is limited, which is unfortunate, but they had the semi-sweet chocolate I needed and it was at a really really good price to boot. The service here is lacking. Most of the staff don't seem much to care and aren't overly pleasant but no one has been rude or standoffish enough to affect my general shopping experience. Overall, its a Sobeys, and its exactly what I'd expect a Sobeys to be. Word of caution - you NEED to know your prices if you're going to shop at Sobeys otherwise you'll waste a lot of money. Some stuff is well priced and some stuff is grossly overpriced, even when its on sale. A note about this location, the meat section is great here, they often have good prices and markdowns that make sense if you freeze meat. The dairy section is FANTASTIC - they carry stuff that no other stores in the area carry, like Crème fraîche (impossible to find at the time I was looking) and a lot of organic dairy produce. The freezer section has everything you could ever want and more too!
