  • Two of my best friends had two separate events at this venue (one wedding and one bridal shower) both put on by the event planner, Amanda. Let me tell you that Amanda is quite literally brain dead when it comes to hosting and planning events. How anyone would let her plan their wedding after what I witnessed on two separate occasions is beyond me. For the bridal shower, they charged an exorbitant $16 pp and served the following joke of a buffet: cheese and cracker tray with mustard, veggie tray, NO RANCH OR PLATES, salad w/ ranch or balsamic vinaigrette(which tasted like straight sugar), orchard chicken salad sandwiches on DINNER ROLLS (not normal croissants), deviled eggs and ARTICHOKE soup (WTF is artichoke soup?). Food was terrible. In addition to the fact that this was the middle of summer and the older ladies, and even many of the younger ones were dying of heat. It was literally sweltering in the space they had arranged for this shower. I was appalled. Moving on to my best friend's wedding, which I was in and helped plan. Whatever went correctly that day was because of the amazing florist (family friend), helpful family, and amazing bridal party. I can give ZERO credit to the staff at Westwood as all they did was make a stressful planning process more stressful. The wedding reception was booked for 5 hours (5pm-10pm). Appetizers for ONE hour, intros, then a sit down dinner promptly at 7pm to be done at 8 to have 2 full hours to party. Well the bridal party alone was not served until 7:30, guests not until 8. The bar was closed the ENTIRE time dinner was going on starting at the stated 7pm in the contract, although dinner was not even being served at this point. Since guests did not GET their food until 8pm, dinner was still going on well into the hour when dancing was supposed to be taking place. Because of this, the bride and at this point, irate groom were trying to explain to Amanda (brain dead event coordinator) that they expected to have the venue and bar open until 11pm instead of 10 due to the lack of timeliness of the wait staff to serve dinner at the allotted time. Amanda failed to acknowledge any wrong doing and did not grant the bridal couple their extra hour that they deserved. In addition to this, she decided she should call the WM Police Dept. on the entire wedding so that they would be waiting outside when everyone was exiting. She cited that the wedding party was belligerent and out of hand. NO ONE I assure you was "out of hand" and this was an extremely embarrassing ordeal for the newly dubbed bride and groom to have to deal with. I am truly disgusted with this place, their staff, and Amanda. (oh the food they served was terrible as well-- ongoing trend?). I would NOT EVER suggest or recommend anyone have a large or small event there, EVER; or not until the owners realize what a business hazard the catering and event staff is and replace them.
