  • I had originally wanted to go on the south rim tour but I did not do the process correctly online so I missed out on that as it was sold out when I called to figure it out. There was one spot left to the west rim on the last day that I would be in Vegas so I was able to join in on that tour. I thought it was a great tour. Dave was our tour guide on the bus and he was hilarious and a very nice guy. The drive was not bad, couple of hours, on the way there we saw a little documentary about the Hoover Dam right before we were able to stop and take pictures. Then we stopped in Dolan Springs which was very interesting. We stopped at this little dirt shack convenient store to pick up our lunch we pre-ordered. Nice people and the sandwiches that they provided us for lunch were very good, they were huge. The drive leading to the Grand Canyon and seeing all of the little houses and mobile homes kind of scattered along the desert was so interesting to me. I did not know people lived out there it was really odd. When we got to the west rim there is a shuttle bus that takes you to three different spots and Dave told us which spots to go to that would be the best views for our time and he was absolutely correct. Go to Guano Point first, Eagle Point second, and if you have time you can stop at the little horse show which I skipped. The views were amazing, it was beautiful and I found a boulder to sit on and just stared out for a bit and it was very calming. I thought it was a great trip. On the way back to Vegas we watched the movie Ben Hur which I thought was a little odd - I think they should show Last Vegas. All in all I thought was a great tour, it was a great day and I highly recommend it. Maybe one day I'll get back out there and I could go to the south rim.
