| - I'm always on board with technology and trying to make lives easier for people. So TTC is rolling out Presto cards which they intend to be their main form of payment by 2017. I can't see how that can happen the way things are now. In general, it is convenient, I do appreciate the move forward, but I have no trust in this sytem.
I don't generally post to Yelp, but the way things are now, this isn't acceptable and I hope the more people speak up, the more Presto is inclined to move a bit faster to do something.
I currently just loaded some money onto my prestocard. I'm going to have to wait 24 hours for this to come through, which is not great, but still better than running to the store to stock up on tokens. However, I'm now looking at a "load pending" number that is not the complete amount of money I added. I'm going to see how this plays out in 24 hours, if it corrects itself, but this isn't helping with the trust issues I have with Presto.
Speaking of system, no app for easy payments, or checking your balance. What is more incredible is that their website isn't even mobile friendly. Even the TTC has a mobile site.
A bit ago, I was tapped on at 3pm and was charged for that trip at 9pm which meant the transfer that I wasn't supposed to be charged for at 3:30pm was charged. In short, that's an extra payment. I wrote to customer service on principle, because this can add up, however as the gentleman earlier posted, their customer service form doesn't accept common punctuation. Could you imagine if you wrote an entire Yelp review and told that you couldn't submit it because you use an apostrophe? :p
I'd be more upset about the extra fare charged to my card if I hadn't gotten on the car a few times for free because the presto machines were broken. Soooo that's a lot of free rides that TTC is letting go, I'm wondering where the shortfall is going to end up.
