I realize that going to a cheap walk-in kind of hair salon is a gamble. I took the gamble because I like not having an appointment and my hair style walking in was likeable-enough that I thought if they had a pattern to go by, it would turn out ok.
Sigh.
I've been here twice and this is what I can say is consistent both times.
Pros:
1) Staff is nice enough but that isn't enough of a reason to be a patron.
2) Price is low enough but that isn't enough of a reason to be a patron.
3) The Cons listed below are easy enough to correct if they want to.
Cons:
1) They do not use a drape on the customer when you're getting your hair washed and this is the only salon I've ever experienced the lack thereof. It just seems easy and a prevention measure for possible wet clothes.
2) They don't wash or rinse out the back of your hair that is lying on the sink edge as thoroughly as the rest.
3) They do not double check their haircuts for evenness -- one side was always cut shorter than the other and the second trip here even had the back having straggly ends longer than others (by a lot, BTW). How difficult is it to double check your work after the cut and, especially after the blow dry?
Neither pro or con, just a note:
1) Quality -- you get what you pay for. Accept the risk of that and use them for trims. Ask them to rinse your hair thoroughly and ask them to check their work for evenness and then this place may be passable.
I'd give them a 2.5 if I could, but not a 3.
