I saw this restaurant/deli highlighted on 'Check Please! Arizona' and was compelled to come for dinner with my very good friend. It is a spacious deli with several tables available where servers take care of your order. When you walk in you are welcomed by the Italian grocery on the right and the deli counter on your left. If you're ordering to go, you walk straight up the the counter to place your order - we weren't sure of the protocol, so went up to order when we met Joe Guido himself and learned that for dinner service you seat yourself. Joe's voice is just as delicious in person as it was in the interview on 'Check Please! Arizona!' :). We were there relatively early on a Saturday (around 6pm) so found a table after a few min and the line formed out the door.
We ordered the antipasto misto appetizer, chicken piccata, chicken marsala and 2 pieces of breasted chicken. Joe treated us each to a cannoli. The antipasto plate was delicious - definitely good for sharing. The chicken piccata was very good - I subbed vegetables for pasta and my friend had the chicken marsala which was generously portioned - she could only manage half. I really enjoyed the belated chicken leg...so crispy and flavorful on the outside and juicy on the inside. Neither of us had room for cannoli, so that will be breakfast!
We'll definitely be back.
