| - Has it really been almost 3 years since my first review of Meat & Potatoes? Well, I think it's about time I author a new review, especially since I've been there a number of times since. Most recently, I had the opportunity to have dinner with several other Yelpers. What I've always loved about this restaurant is its proximity to so many fun and interesting things in downtown Pittsburgh, especially the theater district. In addition, the interior decor and ambiance resonates with the types of restaurants I enjoy going out to for dinner. It's cozy, relaxing, and sexy. Prior to my most recent dinner adventure at MP, I last dined here in December 2014 for my birthday, and before that sometime during the summer of 2014. To be quite frank, I immediately noticed that the menu hasn't really changed much over the last 6-8 months (give or take). I mean, don't get me wrong, the salmon and hangar steak are delish (really, really delish), but I've become bored looking at them on the menu. Give us something new and exciting, MP! Even some of the drinks have been on the menu for a lengthy period of time. We all know your bartenders are extremely creative, so let's see some new items hit the menu. OK, I'll step off my stool now. On the bright side, the food and service were really great. The five of us shared their bone marrow appetizer and a cheese plate. For a drink, I chose their old fashioned cocktail. Having recently stopped into The Commoner and ordering their old fashioned, I much prefer the MP version. For my entree, I ordered the hangar steak. I know, I know. I just complained that the hangar steak has been on the menu for ummm ever, but it is really good and was cooked to a perfect medium rare. I enjoyed my meal, I loved every moment of it and really wanted to savor some dessert, but just didn't have the room. Of course I'll keep dining at MP, but would love (really love) to sit down, open a menu and see some newer items listed.
