| - Although this isnt nearly as big or fancy as the Blackfoot Market, it has quite a few great little spots. They have Rustic Sourdough Bakery, which takes up a big portion of the market with its delicious smelling breads and pastries. Wild About Salads had a creamy (but not too creamy) crab salad, and you can get a single serving in an avocado. They have a few gluten free options as well. Bought some olives at one of the kiosks near the front. Cant remember the name, but they have a ton of varieties, which would be a nice finger food for guests. I bought the Feta Stuffed green olives Rolled In Blue Cheese. Mmmm, blue cheese Without yammering on, there are the rest of the usual suspects at the Market, fruits & veg, cheeses, crepes, meats etc...Tried the much talked about Kiffir Lime Indonesia. I had a beef stewed in Coconut Mik, and my fried the Basil Chicken, Both came with rice and a side of greens. Definately a good portion for $10 a plate, and even though I was told it wasnt spicy, seeing as Im a spice wipm, I didnt find it a bit hot...nonetheless, both dishes were fresh and the meat tender. Id like to go back and try the noodle dishes that seem popular.
The best part of the Kingsland Market is the philosophy is that in order to sell it you had to have "Make It, Bake It or Grow It" which means there arent any middle men selling you product like the other markets. Im hoping this place will eventually expand to offer even more local product!
