Been coming to ALoha Specialties for over a decade. Glad to see that they have remodeled and expanded their restaurant. There is now much more seating and space....
The food here is delicious. The portions are large and decently priced. Definitely get more than what you pay for in comparison to other hawaiian spots. I always leave Aloha Specialties stuffed and satisfied. My favorites are the Garlic Chicken with Gravy and their Loco Moco. Meat is proportioned well with the rice that the meals are served with. Recently tried their Portuguese Sausage with rice and egg, which was appetizing as well. The sausage was a little on the salty side when eaten without rice, but balanced perfectly when scooped and eaten together...
I would give Aloha Specialties five stars, but the line to order is horrible. It has grown in popularity and is always busy, so it takes forever to order your food. They only have one cash register, which is part of the problem. When renovating, they should have added a few more registers (or even at least one more at the minimum) to prevent such delays in ordering. I will say this though...It's evident that all the employees work hard...every worker is always busy and on the go with their duties. While occupied though, they are still always happy to help.
Note: cash only accepted
