Went to the Yelp event this evening and ordered a few appetizers and their Forbidden Rice. First of all, the hostess happily walked me to where my husband was waiting. We got introduced to Michael, the owner who showed us around and proudly explained to us a little about how his restaurant came to fruition and our waitress was so sweet and highlighted her faves as well as other very popular items on their menu. We decided on the charred edamame which was the most flavorful edamame I have tasted. It had of course a charred flavor profile with a sweet teriyaki-ish sauce and a sprinkling of toasted sesame seed. We also got the Shishito peppers which had a drizzling of a mildly sweet sauce and shredded pickled ginger accompanied by a mayo based sauce and last but not least the Forbidden Rice. Explaining this dish will not do it justice, the menu didn't do it justice. you just have to try it once and you're hooked! I'm really bummed because now I HAVE to order this whenever I go there and I really wanted to try other menu items...sigh
