| - Hospitable staff, not enough amenities to support large volume of guests.
Great check-in! They put us in our room without imposing the early check-in fee after collecting the $100 refundable deposit.
Room:
Remote, away from the main lobby, nearer the parking garage, was good for us. We would have preferred being a little closer to the elevator because was a hike to the room and back. We could've have taken the stairs more but the stairs were hot and not air-conditioned, and we stayed on the 9th floor. I went down once but was uncomfortable especially with poor knees. Our Moorea room was the smallest floor plan available: One bedroom, one bathroom and a partial kitchen. The room was clean. The bedding was comfortable. There was a TV in the bedroom and another in the living area with the pull-out sleeper sofa. There was only one sink in the bathroom. There was a sink in the partial kitchen: garbage disposal, dishes, silverware, toaster, barbecue implements, larger than other hotel micro-refrigerator, and microwave. FYI: The sleeper sofa was the most comfortable one I have ever experienced. There are no springs. Super firm. It was like sleeping on memory foam. The bedroom had a king-sized bed. The darkening shades were fantastic to block out Las Vegas' scorching heat. The room did not feel spacious. It wasn't fun to share one bathroom sink. There wasn't a table where we could play games together. It felt more like a hotel room than a timeshare resort property.
Tower Five:
The Activities Center which offered about 2 crafting projects every day. The Activities host was pleasant. She gave us plenty of transition time when the scheduled activity time was over. We were bummed because they had cool pool, Foozball and air hockey tables, but these were always occupied because there were too many people staying at Tahiti Village and not enough tables. Their "cooking play station" and other early childhood toys looked worn, sad and not disinfected. I wouldn't want my toddler playing in that area without bringing cleaning them with Lysol wipes first.
Mahana Spa. I didn't even bother going in because their spa pricing was not competitive, super expensive especially when you have so many more options in Las Vegas.
The Fitness Center was clean. However, it seemed really small for the large resort. It looked like it had three elliptical machines, a couple of treadmills, one stationary bike, a small set of weight machines and a small free weights section.
10th floor Roof Top Lounge was a beautiful area for people to gather. The view is amazing.
Barbecue pits. Just outside Tower Five, there was a barbecue area which had about 3 nice grills. Once again, it was always busy, and I didn't think there were enough areas to cater to the larger clientele.
Concierge station at the base. During the day time, this station is minded by 1-2 people to help guests find shows and attractions and of course, tout their timeshare opportunities.
Main Building:
The Main Lobby is beautiful scented with the smell of coconuts. The reception was fantastic. We arrived early, and they checked us in early without imposing the early check-in fee. They got us into our room immediately. We also checked in with the concierge as per instructed by the agent who contacted us before our stay.
Shuttle. We took the shuttle one night. Once again, we found that there were way more guests who wanted to ride the shuttle than available seating. They came every 30 minutes, but that meant waiting in queue to go to the Strip. They had 2 stops on the Strip: The Tropicana and The Mirage.
Pools:
Pools were super crowded. They had a large main pool with sandy beach area for sandcastle building. They have cold water stations to keep you hydrated and a bar. Jacuzzi tub for families in the this area. Lazy river was fun with lots of water-spouting water features to wet your head during the heat of the day. Free clear floats in children and adult sizes were available. There are plenty of life-guards to monitor safety at the pools.
Staff:
Friendly and polite.
Timeshare Presentation:
No need to travel to another destination like some reviewers reported. The presentations happened in an area behind the Main Lobby Concierge. Be prepared for their hard-sell sales pitch. Skyler was pleasant enough. When I felt he was getting too pushy, I communicated that I didn't appreciate the direction the conversation was going. He was respectful and backed off. My husband and I indicated very clearly that we were not interested after the chat and video presentation and second chat. We were out in 90 minutes when we were prepared to stay for 120 minutes.
