  • New to the area and looking for a place on the way home, I came by without an appointment for a gel manicure the day before a big job interview. Not a lot of selection for gel if you want OPI or quality product. The nail tech was nice and polite, and I was seated immediately, but the service wasn't exactly great. Cutting my cuticles was a bit of a painful ordeal. I asked for rounded nails and still got square ones. The nail tech was unsure of the color I chose, even though I reassured her I'd had it before and it just needed an extra coat or two. It ended up being all over my cuticles and skin - she did not wipe off the excess or even seem to notice how poor it looked, but she did comment that she didn't like the color. Um, thanks? The salt rub at the end was another painful surprise. Worst part is that the day after, the gel started peeling off. It's been a week now and I'm missing nail polish on most of my fingers. Usually a good gel manicure lasts at least a week to ten days. I won't be back.
