Love love loooooove that they have opened an Uncle Tetsu's so close to me in my hometown. I have to say I'm also very glad that they close at 11pm as well, even on a Sunday. I had a very pleasant experience at the new establishment.
The store is still under construction when I went, so it was barricaded in certain areas, but I believe it's turning into a sit in cafe which was cute. The interior is white and pink and it was very pleasant. I can anticipate long line ups and crowdedness in the front area because it's quite tiny, but when we came at 9pm on a Sunday there was no problem.
Service was excellent, most likely because of that one cashier. She was very nice and was very fast and prompt. We were literally in and out of the store in 2 minutes. The open kitchen concept was interesting as well.
The cheesecake was heavenly. Amazing. It's very different when you can eat it freshly made. Love Me Sweet is a main competitor, but I find that Tetsu's is fluffier, and melts in your mouth, while LMS is denser and has different flavours. The cashier also informed us that matcha flavoured cheesecake is on its way soon and I'm so excited. It's $10 and cash only. The cake is able to feed 8 people a decent sized portion (unless you eat a lot). I also tried the real matcha ice cream for $3 and it was really good. It comes in a bowl with a lid and is equivalent to about one and a half large scoops. It was excellent for a quick dessert.
I will DEFINITELY be back and hope to see it grow to its full potential and be successful. 5/5
