| - What a shiny building. You'd swear the Wynn Las Vegas was dipped in bronze (or gold) by the look of it. The inside is similarly grand; a luxurious sprawling layout, as extravagant as anything else on the strip.
Calling it a hotel would be a bit of a misnomer. It's a full-blown resort, with an enormous pool (thumbs way up) and spa, about a dozen restaurants, live shows, a golf course and about a bajillion shops. If you wanted to, you could spend an entire trip to Vegas on their compound and be quite entertained. The rooms are spacious, clean, and futuristic. Just about everything was automated, and I appreciated the ability to turn off (or down) all the lights in the room with the push of a button. And those beds are comfy, son.
Now, for a five-star joint things weren't exactly flawless. Even an hour and a half after check-in our rooms were not ready for us -- though kicking up a mild fuss resolved the issue. I also wasn't a fan of the $80 "resort fee" tacked on to our bill as we checked out. Shouldn't this be included in our quoted rate? But with what we paid for the room via Priceline, it's hard to complain too much.
I was impressed with the Wynn. I probably would not pay full price to stay here (nor could I afford it) but if you are getting a deal, I'd go for it.
Obligatory Title Pun: For The WYNN.
Menu Readability: Let's talk about the tile mosaic inlays on the floor instead. Wooee!
Need to mention: If you hate your money there are like a million ways to spend it here. $10,000 cocktail at Club XS would be one of them.
What this place teaches me about myself: I love pushing buttons. Oh, and phoning people from the bathroom.
