Booked a half head of highlights and a cut - the stylist (who is suppose to be a junior and have junior pricing) offered to do a balayage instead, which I thought would cost the same amount. She then said I had to get it a little higher than normal to make up for a previous dye job. Basically she kept slowly increasing the price and never once mentioned it. Then for the cherry on-top she performed what can only be considered a TRIM (at best) for a total of 3 minutes. Ka-Ching, that 3 minutes costed me 50$. Overall the hair turned out great - really it looks good - but it was not the price I was prepared to pay. I also seriously question if that trim was enough to get rid of my dead ends- which I was very clear about wanting (without losing too much length).
Overall I just don't appreciate being taken advantage of, and this seems to be a pattern with hair salons. Please just make a point of updating the client when prices change.. because sometimes they do, and that's okay, but it's not okay when it doubles without me knowing. I won't be back, which is a shame because they do a fine job.
