The one reason to ride The Roller Coaster at New York New York is to say "Hey, I rode the Roller Coaster". That and to get a photo which proves (or disproves) just how cool you are. Let me rephrase that, you can PURCHASE said photo for $22 bucks.
Beyond that you are taking your life in your hands on this roller coaster. Yeah, it's pretty scary. And not in that cool scary roller coaster sort of way. This ride is RICKETY! I hadn't been on a roller coaster in years and the whole ride I was questioning is this how a roller coaster supposed to be? Somehow I just never recalled such a bumpy ride.
This roller coaster will toss you around like chicken in a fry bag. My head was killing me from being hit against the seat and restraint the whole time. You are just simply not snug and secure in the seat.
The track is, like I said, RICKETY. It's not a smooth ride at all. I couldn't wait to get off that thing. The whole time I was questioning "Is it just me?" But after the ride I heard a woman complain about the same exact thing. And another person got sick. Thank goodness that wasn't me.
The loops would make for a serious thrill ride but this ride and track need serious upgrading. Then I could say this coaster is actually fun.
In any event I got my photos in which at the beginning I look pretty darn cool. Then I look as if I'm writhing in pain. Because i was. And oh yeah, I can say "I rode The Roller Coaster". Would I do it again? Hell no. At least not until the upgrade.
Would I recommend you do it? Sure why not? Just be sure to bring a pillow.
