When I took my boyfriend on a culinary tour of Old Town for one of our date nights, Grimaldi's was the first stop. For good reason too! I am of the opinion that this is the best pizza in the Valley. And if you think that Pizzeria Bianco deserves that title then I have four words for you "come at me bro!"
I could tell that my boyfriend was skeptical when we walked into the restaurant. It is very typically Italian with red checkered table cloths and the like. However, this place could serve me pizza on any surface and I would still eat it!
We orded a Cesar salad, medium pizza with ricotta cheese and mushrooms, and a bottle of Riesling.
The salad was so-so. I mean, there isn't much you can do to tweak a Cesar salad. It is what it is. And this one was a great pre-dinner snack.
The pizza! Oh lord, the pizza! So delicious! I highly recommend putting ricotta cheese on anything that you order as it is melty and delicious. We ate the whole pizza between the two of us just because it was so damn good!
We visited Grimaldi's on a hot Tuesday night, so we got right in. I would suggest making reservations if you want to eat there on a weekend night or during the winter months. Overall, it is a great experience with fabulous service, food, and atmosphere!
