  • Oh my goodness, what an horrible experience! I took my car over there because it is affiliated with State Farms Insurance, and my rear bumper was cracked and needed repair. A week later, I got a call from the shop saying my car was ready for pickup on Friday. I go there only to find out that the "fixed" bumper had a bump by the left rear light. I pointed it out to the shop, and they admitted they had not seen this, but that they would take care of it. Fine I guess since nothing is perfect in life, and I was okay with that. The shop however asserted that the bumper was a brand new part from Nissan which was a blatant lie as I later found out from the insurance company that they were not authorized by their contract with State Farms to install brand new parts. Anyway, the shop left me a voice message that same evening saying that it had been fixed, and that I could come pick up my car again... except that they were closed on the weekend and I had to go back on Monday. Which I did... only to find out that the gap between the bumper and the trunk was now uneven (wider on the left) and it looked weird. Only after I pointed it out to them (and after I paid my $500 deductible), they said that they knew about it but that was the best they could do. Wow! I had to argue with the guy (Brian) who said that was the best it could ever be, since the car had a pre-existing damage (from a prior rear collision accident which had bent the rear panel in the middle behind the bumper). This was BS since the bumper was totally straight prior to this last repair, and the pictures that their own shop sent me are clearly demonstrating this. In other words, "AZ Collision Specialist" could not repair my car to the same condition as it was before this last accident, and they used the "pre-existing" condition excuse for their lousy repair job. Anyway, after much arguing, I left my car with the shop so they could finally fix it once and for all. Later I was able to schedule the adjuster from the insurance company to come so I could get an independent look at the repair (somewhat independent). A couple day later I go to the shop to check on the car. The adjuster had not come yet, but the shop had straightened the bumper (remember the part where they said they could not fix it any better?). I never saw the adjuster, but apparently the repair was then deemed acceptable. My insurance company informed me that I would have to pick up the car or otherwise the shop would charge me $95/day for storage. Which I did. It's not perfect and is still a bit uneven but not enough to get further aggravated. State Farms apparently had already released the payment to the shop so there was not much recourse for me. I know I still have the option to take my car to a different shop for an independent inspection... Last but not least, I got a call from the shop saying that they had mistakenly charged my credit card twice and they wanted to send me a refund check. I told them no, and that I wanted a refund on my credit card. It took a few phone calls back and forth before it was finally sorted out. Hopefully the refund will come in time so I won't have to advance the money. All in all, that "simple" car repair job took two weeks. According to the shop web site "We will treat you like the VIP you are" ... "to make sure the vehicle is repaired as quickly as possible using top quality parts" ... "We will do everything in our power to make the repair process as painless as possible". it is "FAIL" on all counts.
