Stumbled across this hidden out of the way gem yesterday with my family. Wasn't sure about it but omg! I'm so glad we stopped in!
I had a chicken enchilada and beef taco combo plate and it was fantastic! I've been missing real tacos and real Mexican food since I moved to Phoenix from Santa Fe and finally found it!
We also got the queso dip and quacamole. Both were fresh and clearly made with fresh ingredients.
The salsas were also fresh and really good however, I wish the "hot" was much hotter. I asked about that and apparently the reason you can't get hot salsa in the Phoenix valley is because the locals don't like it. Anyway. Both salsas had a great flavor. I could have just eaten the chips (also fresh) salsa guacamole and queso and been satisfied. But nooooo! I had to go and order a meal! Man! I was stuffed.
Even the ice tea was good!
Our server, Toni, was a sheer joy and she made our visit even more pleasant! She's a very positive person and an asset to the establishment.
My only wish is that I could have had a sopapilla and honey to finish. But I was stuffed anyway. So...
"Family owned since 1947". Here's hoping they're around another 70 years!!
