Massages are as high on my list of true loves as champagne and cheese are. Having someone massage my body sans interruption for 60+ minutes is frequently a daydream of choice.
Last Friday afternoon I was perusing the fantastically witty local food blog juxtapalate.com while simultaneously having one of those daydreams. Author Ty momentarily digressed from the glories of food and cocktailing to blog about an extraordinary massage he received from Space Massage Studio - so extraordinary was this massage that he yelped a ten-paragraph, beautifully-detailed review which left me with no choice but to schedule one of these massages for the very next day.
He claims:
"...60 minutes felt like 60 luxurious hours..."
"...expert attention to detail is evident as all five senses are instantly relaxed..."
"...you'll be haunted by wonderful dreams of specialized treatments, John's charming personality and traditional hospitality...."
Could this massage really be all that Ty says it is?
After all, a massage is a massage is a massage, n'est-çe pas?
I had to find out. Oh! The anticipation!
The verdict? Because my writing skills cannot begin to do justice to my magnificent Saturday afternoon pampering session, let's just say it was... all that is gloriously described above... and more.
