  • When signing up, be aware they will not offer you the best price upfront which is expected when signing up for gym memberships. However, they lied to me when I asked for a single location price, telling me that $64.99 was the best price they could offer. I signed up for a short 2 months, and paid first and last month. They told me to cancel 10 days after the end of the first month and that I would not be charged extra and everything would be taken care of by the branch manager. I later realized this was a scam to lock me in for an extra billing cycle, which I would not be able to make use of. The last month's payment only comes into effect when you cancel your membership, which means they would charge me an additional month at the start of the second month if I followed their instructions to cancel 10 days after. As a result, after signing up, I went to cancel my membership right away. Unfortunately, the branch manager (Only one who can cancel memberships) was no where in sight, even though they told me to come during work hours. When I did get a hold of her, she told me I needed to wait a week before I can cancel after signing up. So I waited a week, then it was an additional 3 days because of the 10 day refund policy in Canada. Then I was told I need to wait another week before cancelling because they only accepted cancellations during a certain period of the month. Finally, after waiting 20 days and a week shy of being billed for the next month, I was finally able to get my membership cancelled. This was by far the worst experience I've had at any gym. Having grown up in Markham, I've been to the YMCA by the Go station, Anytime Fitness by the T&T, the Goodlife in Markville Mall, none of which so blatantly made it difficult for me to cancel my membership. I do not recommend this gym if you are looking for a short period in the Markham/Unionville area. There are much better options where you can pay in CASH. I've never written a yelp review before, until I recently got an email about a promotion for $34.99/month with $0 initiation fee. I felt the frustration once again.
