I'm still a fan of this place! Recently enjoyed the pork rinds (chicharrones) and cheese plate over happy hour ($5 each) before digging into the Cuban Pickle Crisis for dinner. It was all great!
The cheese plate featured delicious bread, apricot preserves, dried cherries and delicious almonds along with two types of cheese: one soft and one semi-soft.
The chicharrones were still crackling for several minutes after being brought to the table. As fresh as they were they were not too hot to eat -- which is important because the snaps and pops made us want to dig in SO bad! They were crisp and had just the right amount of salt and paprika. It was a pretty big portion... with three of us enjoying them, there were still a few to take home!
The Cuban sandwich was GREAT! Each component: the ham, the pulled pork and the cheese were delicious on their own; and, together: they were out of this world! For my side, I chose the tots which are really more like mini potato croquets. Think: breaded and fried balls of creamy mashed potatoes! How could that NOT be good, right?
