I went to this LVSCC for redness on my leg and Dr. Susun Michaels was the dermatologist who came in to treat me at the Warm Springs office. She looked at my leg and said she didn't like the 3 little brown dots that were on the shin of my leg and wanted to do a biopsy. I said no they were nothing but she insisted, I also told her another LVSCC office told me they were nothing, but she persisted and I let her do the biopsy and she said they would have the results in about a week. The very next day the office called to tell me those dots were positive for basil cell cancer and to make an appointment to come in to have them removed. I should have insisted on the Mohs technique since they don't take out too much if not necessary. However Dr. Michaels said she was doing the scrape and burn. She took out what she thought was necessary and then told me to put VASELINE ON THEM for the next two weeks. I would have thought an antibiotic ointment would have been better. They were oozing greenish yellow and I showed them to my primary care doctor and she said they look infected and put me on antibiotic. I went back to Dr. Michaels to show her how her work looked and she did a culture and the culture came back contaminated??? How could that be?? Anyway I wound up having to have a wound care nurse come to my house and as of this writing I am still not healed and this was done the end of May~!!! I would not recommend this particular dermatologist because she doesn't follow up with her patient, and when I went back to show her she told me "Why do you come to me, you should have wound care"!!!!!! I figure if she caused the problem she should be the one to correct it but I guess not, she just washed her hands of the whole matter, and no one from that office has called to find out how I'm doing or how the wound is healing. Not a very caring dermatologist at all. I do not recommend her as a good dermatologist at all.
