| - I have waited until I've gone to my hairstylist many times so I could get a feel on consistency.
I am happy to report I love my hairstylist, Jess, and the outcome of my haircuts/styles/color every time. She truly performs a thorough consultation each and every visit wanting to know what worked last time and what I would like changed. If I mention a change she listens, asks questions, offers advice when I ask for it, and makes sure she is in-synch with what I want to achieve. Plus, she's quite fun to chat with, putting me at ease the entire time I'm there.
After all the styling salons I've been to over the years, I've learned that I prefer the same person for the entire salon experience from shampoo to color to cut to style. Having a different person to do any of those as is customary at high-end salons then further complicates the experience because what if I have a bad experience at the shampoo sink by someone who would rather not be at work, doesn't care about my particular experience, and then rushes or is harsh with my head in the process (and, yes, that happens often at those high end salons). That experience then taints and affects my entire experience.
The only down-side to this salon is a logistical one. Their outlet placement and the length of the cord to the hair dryer, curling iron, etc., causes that part of the process to require them to turn you away from the mirror in order to be able to reach, not because they don't want you to see what they are doing. I'm fortunate because I can see in a mirror across the room what she is doing and how she is styling my hair but it is a logistical "thing" that bugs me.
