  • Decent but expected better. The good: The service at the front desk was great. The check in and check out processes were easy, and the people were friendly. My first room was right across the hall from the maids room. There was a constant slamming of doors, so I requested a new room. I was able to get a new room that had little noise. However, the new room did not have a robe or slippers. A hotel emplyee helped me to the new room and was very friendly. The hotel had decent conference spaces. The conference rooms had large round tables or rectangle tables like desks. The food was OK, though the coffee did not provide soy or almond milks (Unless one purchased it at the bar). If a person chooses not to have new towels daily and such, s/he can earn points or a food voucher. The bad: I had requested a fridge long ago, and I did not receive one. There are not a lot of restaurants in walking distance, nor grocery stores, so that was tough. Other people I met were able to get fridges. I had requested one almost one of the first weeks in which I had found out about the particular conference I was attending, so I know it was before anyone else. The food is just OK. The food provided for our conference (a nutrition-based conference) did include tasty trail mix and cool cute little yogurt parfaits. However, much of the food options were high sugar options. Some easy adds would include more yogurts, hard boiled eggs, and peanut butter. The coffee at the Craft City or ones provided was always stale/old tasting. The first room I had was directly across from the maids' room. The constant slamming would not be ideal for any sort of sleeping from the time of when they start to later in the day (so folks who sleep in or nap time). It was *constant* slamming. Speaking of slamming, though I moved rooms, when a maid was cleaning a room, she would constantly go in/out of the room and slam slam slam slam! The room itself had carpet that was definitely worn. The wood on the door in the bathroom was chipping off. The shower was finicky, and it took a long while to ensure it was not too hot or too cold. Then, the water would just change in the middle of showering! The top bedcover had some questionable brown stains on it. The bed skirt was dingy. There is a Target, Trader Joes, Zoes, and more, plus the greenway walking path near the hotel, just about 10 minutes away. However, there is nothing directly there. Walking a bit north for 0.8+ miles, one can find him/herself in more of the city with museums and restaurants.
