What is disappointing about Shula's? The opening hubbub to get to your table and the over-aspiring service staff.
First, you're guided to your table and are stopped to look at a Superbowl Trophy along with some other awards as well as the large black and white photos of football players, most of whom are from years 20 to 30 years before most people were born who are coming through the door.
Then they seat you at a table and stick a football for you to look at that has the steak menu. And they point out how this football is hand-painted.
GET THAT NASTY THING OFF OF MY TABLE!
Perhaps as this restaurant is in a casino, management believes that the people walking through the door don't get out very often and are either splurging or just hit the jackpot. But their opening is juvenile, boring and inane.
The service is oppressively overwhelming. Too many people interrupting too often. They had tremendous problems one evening getting our check correct.
The sad part here, the REALLY sad part is the food is very good to excellent. Their salads are top notch. The crab patties are sensational and the filet mignon is cooked perfectly and absolutely sumptuous. It's comparably priced to Morton's or Ruth's Chris.
Just knock off the cheap theatrics!
