The people that work here are great folks and they're awesome to have a chat with over music. The selection is bigger than other local record stores if only because of size alone, and if you're looking for presses of more contemporary music, you're more likely to find it here. The prices are also pretty reasonable here, and if you sign up for their rewards program, you can get discounts on your purchases.
From my experience buying CDs and vinyl here, though, I wind up with a lot of damaged items often. It's kind of a hit or miss especially with all the inventory and how often it's gone through by people. Usually, the employees are pretty understanding and are willing to change it out or reorder it for you in exchange.
There are two Zia locations -- my favorite tends to be the one closest to UNLV if anything because the people are nicer there and because the selection they carry just seems to be more varied. You might be turned off a bit by all the random kind of nerdy/fandom merch they've got there, though (star wars, anime merch, etc) and at times it feels kind of like you're wandering in the record store version of modern day Hot Topic.
