I visited Hot Pot a while back and fell in lust with ox tails. A friend and I decided to stop in for lunch. The restaurant was pretty desolate expect a customer that was ordering to go.
The interior was nice and bright. My favorite thing was this translation picture on the wall that had typical English words translated so that you could say them as a native Jamaican. That was really cool.
The owners were pretty nice, they didn't say much but they smiled and had a friendly demeanor. They were pretty helpful as they advised my friend on the days they prepared a certain type of fish that he was interested in.
The prices were pretty average. I think they were just about right. They were fast food cheap, or big chain high. I believe our meals came out to around $11.00 bucks each.
The food...oh the food was FANTASTIC! as I stated, this was the first time that I'd eaten ox tails. They were so juicy and tender and they came in some type of sauce that had me cleaning each and every bone. The rice was a bit dry and the cabbage lacked flavour but mixed in with the sauce, I was pretty happy. The only thing I didn't luke was the meat pie. I actually tasted it because my friend insisted. It tasted like a frozen hamburger pattie, that was placed inside of something similar to a hot pocket haha.
Despite the meat pie, this place is a definite must try!
