Scottsdale hotel review:
I want to start off by saying that the maid service here is phenomenal. They are on top of everything & they actually clean the sheets for us long term stay guests. The beds and pillows here are a dream!!! The suites are spacious and well equipped, aside from not having a baking sheet. The hotel is at first very confusing to navigate but they give you a map, unfortunately maid service tossed our map and room card containing our high speed wifi access code. This has been a problem because this particular network does not reconnect you automatically once you step back on property as it should so you have to manually reconnect every single time. It also kicks you off randomly. I've called the front desk three times but no one ever answers. The breakfast spread is pretty great but they don't replenish fast enough so daily I've seen lots of guests go in to the service room to get someone to do it. Breakfast also stops way too early on weekends. It's common knowledge that people sleep in on weekends and they should adjust accordingly. They also close the pool area at 10pm SHARP!!!!! I travel weekly for work and we always stay at mariott. This is the ONLY location that has been weird about this. So long as we are quiet and respectful we have always been allowed to remain in the pool area at every other mariott we have stayed at. The night manager here came out 5 min before closing to tell us we had to be out in five minutes and exactly five minutes later he came back and literally turned off the hot tub jets. Wow! The food in the snack area is ridiculously overpriced, more so than any other location I've stayed at. $10 for a pint of ice cream? No thank you. They don't have cable? Really? What hotel doesn't nowadays. I'm away for two weeks at a time on business so tv is a necessary form of entertainment for me. Lastly, if you are on business ask for a room away from the pool area or you'll deal with screaming kids.
