  • We started our infertility journey two years ago. We went into it positive and not expecting any problems, since we had conceived our first son naturally. 8 months into trying I had and ectopic pregnancy that caused me to have emergency surgery to remove my left tube. We kept trying for a year after surgery, hopeful that it would happen naturally. After talking to about three people about my our journey, the same name kept coming up, Dr Fisch. So, in January of 2015, we made an apt to discuss our options. First, the consult was free, which was refreshing. Secondly, Dr. Fisch made us feel comfortable, which was nice because going into it we were very nervous . I had been hoping that he would say that IUI was an option, as 6 rounds were covered by my insurance. After lots of drawings, graphs and analogies, he explained that IVF was our best bet. We appreciated how real he was with us. He said that he thought we would get pregnant on our first try, and could have a babe in our arms by years end. We walked out of there happy, relieved and optimistic. Three feelings we hadn't felt in a long time. After lots of shots, an egg retrieval, and a single transfer (where he rubs your belly and says a prayer for you), we waited about a week. We went in for our first beta, waited two hours, and got the devastating call that my numbers were low and it didn't work. We were so heartbroken, but were eager to try again. Dr Fisch was very nice and said that it was most likely a bad embryo, not my uterus. We tried a few weeks later with a frozen transfer. We waited...then went in for our first beta. He called and said my numbers were low, but in the positive range. He prepared me that it could be an early miscarriage. I prayed that our second beta numbers would go up. They did! Not enough for him to be certain tho. So, I went in for a third round of blood work. It went up significantly! We were so relieved and over joyed. Two weeks later went in for our first ultrasound, and heard baby's heart beat. What a beautiful sound! We go in on Thursday for our second ultrasound, which we are praying is a good one. One thing I should add- both dr fisch and Amy give you their cell phone numbers, which is amazing. I texted them a few times paranoid and crazy, and they texted back calm and reassuring. I don't have anything to compare my experience to, but I'm so happy I chose GVFP. They are helping us complete our family and making our dreams come true. If every bring goes well, they will have helped make this tumultuous adventure a little more smooth, by giving us a happy ending. Please at least set up a free consult with Dr Fisch when considering a fertility specialist. It's definitely worth your time
