| - Haven't had a chance to visit L'Etoile since the move, but I've dined at Graze a number of times - brunch, dinner and late night.
Fun, inventive menu by Wisconsin standards (no, this isn't a backhanded compliment - but, yeah, it sort of is) with a number of hits (but a few misses).
The ramen is actually quite good; definitely not authentic by any stretch of the imagination, but well executed. The broth had great body and flavor, the Wah Kee noodles a great, chewy consistency, and the radish served as a nice foil to the unctuous pork belly (how about a few more pieces, though?).
The banh mi, though, was a dud. It really missed all the things I usually love about the sandwich - the chicken liver pate definitely wasn't as assertive as I'd like, the pickled vegetables lacked zest, and the baguette missed the mark on texture.
Charcuterie plate and bone marrow are winners. Nothing else to report on that front.
Brunch dishes are all serviceable, and pastries at Cafe Soleil are well executed; all in all, a great place to take a break from your Farmers' Market wandering (hey, maybe you'll run into Chef Tory while you're out there).
Service is unremarkable, but it's more of a casual place as opposed to it's big brother next door. I give Graze 3.75 stars, rounded up to 4.
