  • Quaint cantina situated on Cave Creek Road in Carefree Arizona A Lovely although quite dirty and smelly pond on the very large patio sets the mood Ducks birds and turtles alight upon the protruding boulders and entertain you as you enjoy the chips n salsa Three types of salsa are served A spicy hot , a mild and a mild green salsa The chips tasted store bought and were slightly stale Happily the first basket is served gratis while subsequent baskets will cost you .99 cents per My husband and I presented promptly at 11:00 Here are some of the highlights I asked what the chefs "Seafood special " (and I am quoting the menu ) was . Today's seafood special is chicken I tuned out the rest of the description entirely because they lost me at the chicken part Husband ordered the Plato de Mexicana One beef tamale One shredded beef taco One cheese enchilada Served with a large pile of refried beans Sans tortillas No rice is offered The beef smelled off and looked like it was stewed Perhaps made well in advance and left to linger Husband refused it Since the seafood special was chicken and I do not imbibe I ordered a bean tostada with side of guacamole Beans are not made with lard Thank you Thank you Thank you Mine was ok Shell was definitely stale but I was so grateful about the lard free beans Lettuce was good No tomatoes very little cheese A bland affair until I doused it with the array of salsa so kindly provided Very bland indeed but I would perhaps come back with friends and keep trying for that seafood special jackpot to hit This place looks like it would be awesome for friends cocktails and appetizers It is certainly worth another try I truly wish them well
