  • Sound Engineers need to go back to school. AWFUL EXPERIENCE. We went to the Experience Hendrix show there on October 7. It was a great lineup of artists, they all did fantastic, it was an awesome show...Buddy Guy, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Zakk Wylde, Eric Johnson, Ana Popovic, Chris Layton on drums, and several other great blues artists all giving tribute. HOWEVER.... Mesa Arts Center folks, I HOPE you read this review. The guitar was GREAT and the VOICE was HORRIBLE. On all but Noah Hunt singing for Kenny Wayne Shepherd (who used a wireless Mic stand, not one of the wired ones) and Buddy Guy (because he sang with lower volume voice and used the far left Mic not one of the middle three mics), the voice was HORRIBLE because you guys have NO CLUE how to tune the microphones, their voices were all BLASTING and distorted and just RUINED the show!! 90 bucks per ticket, I brought 4 people who'd never been to a blues artist concert, and they all said the same thing, "We couldn't make out ANYTHING they were saying because the sound was so distorted when they were singing!" THIS WAS AN EXTREMELY BAD EXPERIENCE AND I AM THOROUGHLY DISAPPOINTED WITH MESA ARTS CENTER. I have been to MANY MANY live concerts and simply could not believe the horrible quality of the Mics. It's the fault of the sound engineers who set up the show. And I'm certain that the artists themselves were disappointed too and probably won't be booking another show there.
