  • I live in the neighborhood and want to really like and support 5 Church but, since my initial visit and review, I have made three unfulfilling visits back. I travel around the country for a living and dine out about five times a week. When I saw a recent listing, ranking 5 Church as a Top Ten spot in the U.S. for dining solo, I decided to try it again on a weekend where my fiancĂ© was out of town. Congrats to them for that ranking - quite impressive and I'm sure it will drive new business to the restaurant! I walked in to a crowded, vibrant atmosphere, found a spot at the bar, and waited...my hope was to enjoy a few drinks and a nice meal but, after five minutes of not being acknowledged by anyone, I left. Good food will get frequent diners like me to a restaurant and back again perhaps once or twice but, with so many choices in Uptown and the surrounding area, attentiveness and a welcoming atmosphere is where I want to spend my money.
