The chicken tenders were - wait for it - tender. I know that should go without saying but who hasn't experienced very dry chicken elsewhere? At The Portly Piper, the tenders are large, plentiful, moist and come with a yummy plum sauce. I also tried the buffalo wings with chipotle mustard sauce. They are big, messy (in a good way) and go down well with beer.
The server was very efficient and accommodating. She didn't bat an eye at a request to substitute a standard side dish with a different side dish. She came by frequently to clear away empty dishes, provided a container to take home leftovers and gave separate bills without being asked for any of these things. She just anticipated our needs.
Other positives include the huge menu selection, very reasonable prices and tons of parking.
I just wish the takeout box was recyclable rather than made of styrofoam.
