  • I gave it 2 stars because there are great stylists here like Gary and Tina. Just beware of the bad apples. I called a day ahead and let the front desk know I have very curly hair, and needed it straightened then cut. Also, I needed a blonde root touch up. She told me it would be fine, however, upon arrival I was told that she wouldn't be able to do a root touch up because she wouldn't have enough time. She was very pushy about upcharging me for a deep condition and I kept telling her no. She did one anyways for free which has now changed the shape of my curl. 2 hours later, she INSISTED on cutting my hair curly. Needless to say, I left the salon in tears with no haircut, and no root touch up. When I go to a stylist I respect that they went to school to learn how to cut hair, but I expect when I say things like "cut my hair straight" or "I don't want a deep conditioning from a product I am unfamiliar with" that they would listen. The worst mistake I've come across from Tru Salon is when they claim to "know your curls better than you". I've just had this hair on top of my head for the last 22 years and getting haircuts for the last 22 years... I think I have an idea of "what works" but, thank you for getting your manager to try to persuade me that you know best because you've been "specialized" and thank you for wasting 2 hours of my Saturday. (Mind you, It took this stylist 2 HOURS to wash and blow dry my hair and charged me $30 for it). Unbelievable. #WhosHiringThesePeople?
