rev:text	Come here for expertly hand-cut frites, served perfectly crisp. Splurge and purchase the sauce trio (cranberry mayo, sage aoili, and their house BBQ). Then thank me later. Jac's is a beautiful restaurant on Monroe St. Like many restaurants in Madison the layout is quite small, but the interior is set up to allow the most possible space for guests. I found it to be very comfortable, intimate and relaxed. My party and I shared a table at the front of the restaurant by the large windows overlooking the street. It was a cozy spot where we were able to people watch and admire the snow blanket the street. It was quite the backdrop. My party of three entered Jac's at dinner time midweek and were greeted immediately. I don't believe there was much of a wait, however, there is a decent sized bar where one could order a drink if so. Once seated we were met with our waiter who was a real delight. He gave us some recommendations and declared that the Mac & Cheese was probably his favorite dish, and one of my dining mates took his word and ended up ordering it. The Parmesan bread crumbs that were drizzled over the cheesy goodness that is the Mac 'N Cheese gave the dish a nice light crunch, as well as the ham and bacon bits. Although it was highly enjoyed, the price was a little steep at $17. On the other hand the Jac's Classic burger I ordered was very reasonably priced at $11, as are most of their burgers/sandwiches, but it did taste just 'ok'. I was able to sub my side for a cup of their tomato soup for only a buck up-charge and it was creamy deliciousness that definitely hit the spot. Jac's has a lot to offer: Great service, a lovely atmosphere and some great food. They have quite a few options that are decently priced and that sound tasty so I am sure to be wowed in the future.
