| - Bowling alley already checked off, moving on the the hotel/casino part. First thing I noticed about the Coast the first several months or so after moving here is, well, they don't really have a theme. Do any of the Coast casinos even bother with a theme, the Orleans notwithstanding? Or do they prefer to let their low-roller, kickback appeal do the talking? I like it though. The jack and cokes were strong when I made my donations. If I wanted hotness I'd look elsewhere. Sacrifices must be made.
I went to an event for work at one of the ballrooms here, again, nothing spectacular. Spending time at the blackjack table, observing the ebb and flow, it's definitely off-strip yet still not downtown. Nah mean? During this time, the house band (Thunder? or something?) performing at the main lounge busted a very spirited and faithful rendition of "Bohemian Rhapsody," with every "Magnifico-oh-ohhhh!" intact. For me? For meeee? I guess so, because there were only four of us in the comfy chairs. Points for not giving a shit if it wasn't a packed house; that's punk rawk.
The GC is the "Compulsively Masturbating Epileptic" of the Las Vegas Casino scene; it may not be a pretty sight, but the job gets done just the same.
