  • Went to see Slayer on August 4th. I've been living in sin city for 14 years and in sin for...well that's another story. Anyway, in all those years I have never been to this place, which I guess seems odd since the Hard Rock is the definition of music to some (the pretentious types). The venue itself was eh. I guess I expected more considering where it was at. The one good thing about it was the floor had steps which make me want to believe there were seats at one time. Or maybe since I was late my fellow metal heads had already thrown the seats at the stage. In which case I have to express anger since they didn't save me one. The sound was decent but when each singer tried to speak. I know most people think is metal people just grunt but some of us are able to speak effectively. As the lead singers were trying to say thank you for coming (shocking!) the sound was so bad it actually did sound like they were grunting. The hardest part of the show was the exit. They have a merchandise table in the far corner. There's nowhere near enough room for people to stand in line. Everyone was shoved into a ball. Good thing us metal people are extremely polite and have manners (I'm not being sarcastic) since one person could have pushed us and we all would have went down like dominoes. In hindsight that would have been hilarious. Bottom line. If you like Starbucks then you would love this place. If you like real coffee then there are much better venues in town.
