| - Penn & Teller's actual stage show gets 3 stars from me. As others have said, if you watch Youtube videos that show how certain tricks are performed, have seen the "Masked Magician" programs that were on a few years ago which explain how many magic tricks are done, or have seen Penn & Teller on various TV shows, then you won't be fooled at all by 3 or 4 of the tricks they do in this live show, but there were a few others that were very creative, and all of them were very well done. As others have stated, I guess my primary reason for the 3 stars is that I expected to be completely blown away and come away from seeing this show and be mind f@#ked, and that simply didn't happen.
That said, the reason they get 4 stars is because I've rarely ever seen entertainers be as open, accessible and gracious to their fans as these 2. After the show, they were in the lobby, Teller grabbing cell phones from their fans and taking "selfies" with anyone who requested one with him, answering questions (yes, he CAN speak and does talk with people after the shows) and after all the selfies were taken and the fans had dispersed, I saw him sitting on the ground playing with a child who had just purchased a set of cards at the P&T gift shop! Penn was exactly the same, he took photos and signed autographs, I had a few technical questions which he was happy to answer, and afterward, both he and Teller hung out in the lobby, neither seeming to be in a hurry to get away from people or in a rush to leave the place. That, to me, gets a strong 5 stars, as these guys have every right to be snooty, arrogant and egotistical, and they're simply not. Rather, they're exactly the opposite. How incredibly refreshing!
