  • During the allergy season, I run through a couple dozen handkerchiefs between laundry days. Looking online for for some good quality handkerchiefs, I stumbled across Duluth Trading Company. Their website posts reviews of their products, and virtually all of the reviews indicated that people were estatic about the merchandise, including the handkerchiefs I eventually purchased. After receiving and trying the handkerchiefs, I went to the website and gave a review of the handkerchiefs. I said that although the handkerchiefs were large and thick, they just weren't absorbant, and thus didn't do it for me. More than a week later, I noticed that my review still hadn't been posted to their website. I sent them an email asking why. They replied that when they receive reviews that are not positive, instead of immediately posting the review, they try to work with the customer to make them happy. No one had contacted me to try to make me happy. No wonder almost all of the reviews on their website are stellar. To be fair, they do have a policy of allowing returns if you are not satisfied with their merchandise. But I am not the type of person who is willing to go to the trouble of getting a return merchandise authorzation number, packing it back up, and making a trip to the post office or UPS/FedEx to return it. Despite their satisfaction-guaranteed policy (which I applaud) I find it unethical for them to filter out less-than-stellar reviews, and make it appear that everyone is completely satisfied with their merchandise.
