  • I was a CenturyLink subscriber for about 4 years and just made the switch to Cox. Amazing difference!!! When CenturyLink installed my internet and telephone service, it took the tech about two hours because he couldn't figure out how to connect his modem to both my phone and my security system (ok, it's called a splitter that can be purchased for $2.00). Cox's guy was in and out of here in 30 minutes, he understood what he needed to do and actually gave me a few items I needed to make my Vonage phone lines line up easily with the Cox service while still making my security system work. He probably would have been out of here in 15 minutes had I not needed to asked him to fabricate a couple short RJ-11 phone wires (which he did for free, but was a little time consuming for him). My internet service has been nothing short of fantastic. CenturyLink offered speeds of up to 20 Mbps. In actuality, the speed was more like 15 Mbps in non-peak times and a barely-Netflix-friendly 3 Mbps during peak times (and often worse). I purchased the 150 Mbps package from Cox, and I'm guessing I could get very close to that with an ethernet connection, but I'm connecting via wifi, and the technology on my devices is a bit limiting. I am getting 50 Mbps on my iphone 5S (yes I need a new phone) and about 105 Mbps on my computer which is outfitted with a 5.6 GHz wifi modem. Netflix works great, I'm able to be productive. In short, 5-stars for Cox. Thank you!!!
