| - This is the standard by which I judge all other food festivals. I LOVE Devoured. The quality of chefs (not many chains featured), food, craft cocktails, and even plating are a cut above other food fests. The sculpture garden is rather small for the amount of vendors and attendees that they cram into it, but it is a nice venue. Ticket to the festival includes museum admission, and I LOVE this museum. The time of year for this event is already pretty warm outside in Phoenix, so it's nice that you can go inside and cool off in the air conditioning and see the exhibitions when you get overheated (there's usually more beer/wine/liquor/dessert inside too). The worst part of this event for me is that there is no 21+ day; kids under 6 do not need a ticket, and the event unfortunately features parents with little ones running amok, grabbing up samples that they don't even eat ("What is this? Eeeeewwww!"), and using their strollers as battering rams in an already cramped space. Because of the chaos caused by intoxicated people and rampant toddlers, you also experience the rising frustration levels of volunteer docents in the museum when you're inside. Best tip is to buy tickets as soon as they go on sale, because price goes up as the event draws nearer. It's also good to get the full 2-day experience, because it is way too much food and drink to sample all of in one visit. I've never seen vendors run out of samples either, which is really nice and seems to be the exception at these events rather than the rule.
