Warning: Get to know the stylists before making an appointment here!!! Do not book with just anyone!
My hair stylist of 8 years was on a hiatus to take care of family stuff but recently came back here to work on the weekends. When I booked my first service with her, I immediately fell in love with the salon and even met the owner who is SO SO sweet and lovely! Love her.
However, I have trust issues especially when it comes to my hair but I needed a blowout on a Thursday and felt that with BDH being so close to my house why not just book an appointment online? I just wanted a nice look for working life is beautiful and knew I wasn't going to have time between 15hr shifts to do it myself so it shouldn't be difficult to have anyone do it right?
Well, i showed up for my appointment 5 minutes early and still had to wait 15mins to find anyone to help me as no one was in the salon except a customer waiting for her hair dye to finish....after the 15 min wait I then had to wait another 10-15 minutes for my stylist Ashley to (excuse my language) get her shit together! She was exhausted and should have just called in sick with the state of mind she was in. The entire appointment was awkward but she still managed to at least provide me with a decent blowout of wavy curls. It did last through the weekend but jeez the customer service was horrible and I will only be back here to see Ali as long as she is a stylist here.
This is also why I have trust issues. Having someone wash and brush your hair is awkward enough, if you can't connect with your stylist on a good level then what's the point in paying them to do your hair? Totally wish I would have gone over to True Aveda but I wanted to give Blowout a chance but hey lesson learned! Still giving 3 stars for Ali and the owner though.
