| - My friend and I needed a place for a quick catch up before we get on with the rest of our day (aka work). She lives in Stouffville and said she's been meaning to visit Main Street Bakehouse.
Main Street Bakehouse is located, you guessed it, on Main Street in Stouffville, just east of Ninth Line. We came here around 11am on Wednesday and there were a few people by themselves and a couple of meetings going on.
As soon as you get in, you'll see their kitchen and their bakers preparing the baked goods you see as you walk further along towards the register to order. The decor is cozy and clean with a touch of rustic look for that home feeling. Their windows brightens the entire shop and on this rather warm March day, it was as though I was sitting outside.
While they don't serve fancy cappuccinos or lattes, they do offer some Ontario coffee roasts, one from Waterloo and the other right from Stouffville. I am a big fan of businesses that supports other local businesses.
I got a tea and I couldn't resist the scones, but the real struggle was to stop myself from ordering EVERYTHING because they all looked so good especially when you know they bake them in-house.
We were there for almost 2 hours and as time went on, they had spurts of time where they were extremely busy. An entire family came in and said they were told they had to get the cinnamon rolls, we totally missed that, but guess what're going to get next time we come back?
The staff were friendly and on our way out, we watched the bakers do their thing, they invited us back there as a joke and had a nice little chat with us, especially when she saw me take photos of a door that hangs on their wall right by the entrance. She tells us it's a custom to bless the shop. Traditionally used to bless people's homes, but this is their home and it is blessed.
I look forward to coming back here and finally trying their cinnamon rolls and likely all their other #bakedglory
