This very posh restaurant is located in the Ritz Carlton Montreal. The decor inside is contemporary, trendy, and elegant. There are walls of cut glass squares decorating the main rooms with a large fireplace in the center. My family and I were seated in a dining area that was private, we believe because Daniel in NYC catered my wedding 2 years ago and the recognized our name in their system. It was a nice touch.
We had to wait 10-15 minutes to get any menus but after that the service was impeccable. Our bread was replaced the second we finished it, our water was constantly filled, if our wine was empty more was brought out.
There was a special menu for Christmas which had a pretty good variety of options. My husband and I settled on the raviolo for a starter. It was one very marge ravioli filled with cheese and spinach and a poached egg, topped with leeks and mushrooms, in a parmesan foam and pesto sauce. It was pretty flavorful and good but we both agreed we would have liked the sauce to be a bit thicker so we could have eaten it more easily with the raviolo. My fathered ordered the mushroom soap with foie gras and he loved it. My ordered the foie gras and also enjoyed it throughly.
There was not a vegetarian option on the menu for the entree but they gladly made me a mushroom, tomato, squash pasta with a mushroom cream sauce. It was quite good. My husband got a pasta with duck ragout. He basically inhaled it he loved it so much. My mom got a fish entree and raved Bout it all through dinner and after. My dad got the steak duo and really liked it but had trouble finishing it because it was just a lot of steak.
We all shared the four desserts. They were very delicious and incredibly interesting. The sorbets and ice creams were paired perfectly with the flavors of the desserts. This was a very nice meal.
The staff was accommodating and very attentive. They were also very knowledgable regarding wines and each dish on the menu. They were constantly seeing if everything was alright with our meal. At the end, we were given a small basket of madeleines which we ended up taking home with us.
